Academic works
Achilles De Maertelaere became a pupil at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Ghent) in 1894. He was then 12 years old. He remained there until the school year 1903-1904, when he delivered his final works.
For the various tests Achilles De Maertelaere was first or first ex aequo; his drawings have therefore been preserved in the archives of the Academy (now HoGent).
